Title: Teleworking Student Assistants - What on Earth Can They Do from Home?

Speakers:

  • Elisabeth Garner, Interim Government Resources Coordinator, Randall Library, University of North Carolina Wilmington
  • Sarah Dutton, Student Worker Assistant-Government Resources, Randall Library, University of North Carolina Wilmington

Description:

With COVID-19 shuttering universities and colleges across the country this past spring and summer, countless student workers were forced to give up on-campus jobs. Our university allowed our library student worker assistants the opportunity to telework; a wonderful idea, but left supervisors with the task of creating work for those students that they could complete from home. During my presentation, I will discuss some projects I was able to modify or create in order for my student worker to work her "normal" hours each week, for the Government Resources department.
