About

Item Lister provides users with the ability to see which item numbers are and are not being selected by any Federal depository library. One library’s item selection profile may be accessed at a time.

Item Lister is often used to quickly verify a library’s selection of an item number, without having to log in to any tool. For example, after you add or deselect an item number from your library’s item selection profile, you can double check selections in Item Lister to make sure the change was successfully processed. You can also use Item Lister to identify non-selected item numbers, in support of collection development.

Item Lister results only show item numbers. Use FDLP Data Manager (FDM) instead if you would like to view a library’s item selections along with descriptive information from the List of Classes.

Instructions

To produce a report in Item Lister:

  1. Select the type of report you’d like in the Data Output Type drop-down box.
    • The item numbers that the library selects, in rows and columns.
    • The item numbers that the library does not select, in rows and columns.
    • The item numbers that the library selects (Y for Yes) and does not select (N for No), in rows and columns.
    • The item numbers that the library selects (Y for Yes) and does not select (N for No) in a single column.
  2. Enter the Depository Library Number.
    • If you do not know a library’s number, you can look it up in the Federal Depository Library Directory.
    • Use leading zeros, and don't use dashes. For example: 0005A, 0015A, 0546A
  3. Click Submit.

At the bottom of the page, you can see the number of item numbers selected and the percentage of item numbers selected compared to those currently available.

You can download the item numbers in a CSV format. Certain item numbers will be contained in single quotes to prevent spreadsheet software from removing leading zeros in those items.

Update Frequency

The data within Item Lister is updated daily and reflects current item selections.

Item numbers you deselect through Depository Selection Information Management System (DSIMS) and item numbers associated only with the online format and added through DSIMS are updated in real time.
