PURL Usage Report

  • Last Updated: June 13, 2025
  • Published: June 04, 2025

About

The FDLP PURL Usage Report enables libraries to create monthly reports of the usage of GPO Persistent Uniform Resource Locators (PURLs) at their library. Reports are based off IP address and hostname/domain name patterns chosen by library staff.

For libraries that have configured their report, a monthly notification email is distributed when the report is available. Reports are available for 12 months.

Accounts

If you want to update the email addresses that receive report notifications, please use askGPO, and select the category, “Other depository library question or issue.”

Training

  • FDLP PURL Usage Report – Analyzing Usage of Digital FDLP Resources (Video, 55 minutes in three parts, recorded in 2022)
  • FDLP PURL Usage Report Tutorial (PDF guide, 8 pages, created in 2022)
  • Persistent Uniform Resource Locator (PURL): Explanation, Purpose, and Tracking Usage at Your Library (Instruction article, updated in 2022)

Login information

Username = your depository library number
Password = your internal FDLP password assigned by GPO and case sensitive

Help

If you do not know your password, use the CGP Forgot Password feature. The depository coordinator listed in the FDL Directory will receive an email with the library’s FDLP password.

Alternatively, the depository coordinator or library director listed in the FDL Directory may request information about your library's password through askGPO. Choose the Federal Depository Library tile and then the Other depository library question or issue category.

Tip

To ensure receipt of monthly email alerts, whitelist both [email protected] and purl.usgpo.3roundstones.com.
