Update Cycle to Add Print Selections

Depository libraries have until midnight, September 30, 2025, to add any unlimited distribution paper-format titles to their library’s item selection profile.

New selections will become effective on October 1, 2025 (Federal fiscal year 2026).

Print depository publications selected now must be cataloged and retained for at least five years.

If your library is already selecting the print titles you wish to receive, or if you do not wish to add any print titles to your item selections, no action is required in response to this message.

Depository Selection Information Management System (DSIMS)

Make changes to your library’s item selection profiles in Depository Selection Information Management System (DSIMS).

Training is available for this depository tool. This includes the DSIMS Quick Start Guide, Working with Your Library’s Item Selection Profile (video, 10 minutes), and other resources linked from the bottom of the DSIMS web page.

Not Covered by this Update Cycle

  • All 20-copy and 50-copy titles on the Print Distribution Titles List are allocated and may not be selected during the update cycle.
  • EL-format item numbers may be added to your library’s selection profile at any time of the year.  These selections go into effect immediately after you add them within DSIMS.
  • All item number deselections you make in DSIMS also take effect immediately.
  • If your library has been allocated and is selecting 20-copy and 50-copy Print Distribution Titles, do not deselect their item numbers in DSIMS. If you wish to stop receiving these titles, contact GPO to learn about the process used in your National Collection Service Area to reallocate these selections to other libraries.
