U.S. Government Publishing Office (GPO) has resumed full operations following the end of the Federal Government shutdown and passage of a full FY26 Legislative Branch appropriation.

FDLP Updates:

  • Biennial Survey of Depository Libraries: The deadline to submit your library’s Biennial Survey has been extended until Friday, December 12, 2025. A link to complete the survey was sent to all depository libraries on Monday, September 22, 2025. A preview of the survey questions is also available.
  • Distribution of shipments: Distribution of print shipments to FDLP libraries has resumed. There is a significant backlog of materials to be distributed, but GPO teammates are working to ensure your depository materials arrive at your libraries as soon as possible.
  • Cataloging distributed materials: GPO teammates are working to catalog a substantial backlog of House and Senate Reports and other distributed materials.
  • askGPO: Many inquiries were submitted to askGPO during the shutdown. GPO teammates are currently working through the backlog and are generally addressing older ones first but are also prioritizing inquiries based on urgency and those related to the Biennial Survey.
  • FDLP Academy: GPO teammates are working to reschedule FDLP Academy programming that was planned during the shutdown. News Alerts will be published to announce new or rescheduled webinars.

LSCM thanks the FDLP community for your patience as we work to clear the backlogs following the 43-day shutdown. We are happy to be back with you working to support the FDLP and working towards our vision of America Informed.
