GPO’s System of Online Access | Collection Development Plan for fiscal year 2023 is now available on FDLP.gov.

The Collection Development Plan underwent a comprehensive revision to reflect:

  • Goals of the National Collection of U.S. Government Information, Strategic Plan for FY 2023 – FY 2027.
  • Effect of the Access to Congressionally Mandated Reports Act on collection building activities.
  • September 2023 NARA Affiliate Archive agreement.
  • Content added to GovInfo in FY23.
  • Digitization projects initiated in FY23, for which content ingest is planned in FY24 and beyond.

The National Collection of U.S. Government Information, Strategic Plan for FY 2023 – FY 2027 emphasizes expanding access to Government information, which will be accomplished through a combination of GPO digitization and partnerships with depository libraries and other stakeholders. We encourage Federal depository libraries, Federal agencies, and non-FDL institutions engaged in digitization of U.S. Government public information to consider contributing digital content for ingest into GovInfo. Learn more about becoming a Digital Content Contributor on the Partnerships page. Materials needed for GPO digitization are listed on the GPO Needs Lists LibGuide and in FDLP eXchange.

Current priorities include:

  • U.S. Congressional Serial Set.
  • Congressional Hearings.
  • Depository Shipping Lists and Depository Invoices.
  • Executive Agency Annual Reports.
  • Foreign Relations of the United States.

If your library is weeding any of the materials listed, and items are not claimed within your region, please contact us via askGPO, using the category Other depository library question or issue. GPO will cover the cost of shipping materials needed for digitization to GPO.
