Summer is the perfect time to review your library’s FDLP information online and make sure it is up–to-date.

  1. References and Links in Library Websites and Guides

Please check your library websites or guides, and edit references and links to update any out-of-date resources, such as:

  1. Your Library Information in the Federal Depository Library Directory (FDLD)

Please review and make edits to your library’s FDLD information. Keeping it current not only helps patrons find and use your resources, but it also assists GPO staff in reaching you with important information regarding your library’s participation in the FDLP.

To review and make changes to your library’s FDLD entry, log in to askGPO. Click on the “My FDL” link on the menu bar.

  • If the FDL user is the depository coordinator, they will have the ability to edit some fields (those with a pencil icon visible).
  • The FDL coordinator can click on the “Edit” button or click on the pencil icon to edit allowable fields.

Review all the fields for your library’s FDLD entry, paying particular attention to:

  • URLs for library web pages, catalogs, and social media.
  • Street Address information (where your library is located) versus the Mailing Address information (where your first-class letters should be mailed).
  • Zip Code information.
  • Names and contact information for Coordinators and Directors.
  • Library notes that may be out-of-date.

Library staff who do not have an askGPO login or who want to edit a field for which they do not have permission should submit an inquiry through askGPO. Select the category, 'Other depository library question or issue.'
