May 14, 2024 marks the U.S. Senate Library’s 45th anniversary in the FDLP. The Library serves present and former senators, member and committee staff, Senate leadership, and Senate officers.

May 17, 2024 marks the 70th anniversary of the United States Supreme Court’s 1954 landmark decision in Brown v. Board of Education. This marked the end of the "separate but equal" precedent set by the Supreme Court nearly 60 years earlier and served as a catalyst for the expanding civil rights movement during the decade of the 1950s. Linda Brown Smith’s father started a class-action suit that led to Brown v. Board of Education. Learn more.
