On behalf of the Government Printing Office, Ithaka S+R is launching a project that will develop sustainable models for the Federal Depository Library Program in the 21st century. Engaging the FDLP community is a top priority for this project, and community involvement will contribute substantially to the modeling of an FDLP that meets the needs of depository libraries as well as of the broader library community and those they serve.

Towards that end, Ithaka S+R has set up FDLPModeling.net, a venue for community engagement that will provide updates on the status of the project, offer a variety of mechanisms for community inputs, and share interim drafts and deliverables for comment.

We encourage you to visit the site, learn about the project, and share your thoughts at this early stage. The site currently offers a broad description of the overall project strategy and goals, and specific information about the first major project deliverable, an environmental scan on the factors reshaping the landscape for government information.

Please share your feedback with Ithaka S+R throughout the course of this project, sign up for updates via RSS or email subscription on the website, and pass this email on to any of your colleagues who may be interested.
