SuDoc Classification Change for the CFR
The Superintendent of Documents (SuDoc) Classification practice for classifying the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) (AE 2.106/3:, item numbers 0572-B, 0572-C) is changing.
The U.S. Government Printing Office (GPO) is returning to the historic classification practice for the CFR volumes by eliminating the volume number in the class number.
Prior to 2013:
AE 2.106/3:26/PT.1/V.1(S.1.0-1.60)/2010
2013 volumes forward:
AE 2.106/3:26/PT.1(S.1.0-1.60)/2013
AE 2.106/3:26/PT.1/V.1(S.1.0-1.60)/2010
2013 volumes forward:
AE 2.106/3:26/PT.1(S.1.0-1.60)/2013
This will impact the suffix of the class number only and will be effective with the first volumes published for 2013, which are expected to be printed and shipped to depositories in early 2013.
GPO staff will NOT be issuing class corrections for previous issues/years of the CFR that included the volume number in the SuDoc class number.
