Retrospective DVDs of U.S. Exports and Imports of Merchandise

Several discrepancies have been identified between USA Trade® Online and its tangible DVD equivalent, the U.S. Imports of Merchandise (C 3.278/2:) and U.S. Exports of Merchandise (C 3.278/3:), which were formerly distributed to depository libraries under item number 0154-D.

In order for depository libraries to provide access to the complete import/export data, the U.S. Government Printing Office (GPO) worked with the Foreign Trade Division of the U.S. Census Bureau to procure copies of the DVDs for distribution to those libraries that selected item number (0154-D) at the end of 2006. As a result:

Depository libraries that selected item number 0154-D in 2006 will receive 78 retrospective DVDs of U.S. Imports of Merchandise and U.S. Exports of Merchandise in batches in upcoming shipments. The DVDs contain data from January 2007 through March 2010.
Depository libraries that did not select item number 0154-D in 2006 will not receive the retrospective DVDs.

Retrospective DVDs were shipped based on depository profiles from late 2006. Libraries that received the DVDs in error may request return labels. Due to the non-traditional nature of this distribution, GPO is permitting the return of these DVDs as they pertain to this shipment only.
