Join us tomorrow, May 26, 2010 at 1:00PM EST, as Laurie Hall, GPO's Director of Library Technical Information Services, hosts the May session of "Chat with GPO" via OPAL. Ms. Hall will discuss GPO's Pre-1976 Shelf List Project and take questions from the audience.

This project converts cards in the historic card catalog covering U.S. Government documents from the 1870's - October 1992 to machine-readable metadata (MARC21) to make these records available in the Catalog of U.S. Government Publications (CGP). This project also includes the digitization of the historic cards for internal GPO research and preservation so that the historic shelf list can be transferred to the National Archives.

Space is limited to the first 100 participants on a first-come, first-served basis. GPO recommends arriving at least 10 minutes early in order to reserve your spot and test your connection.
