“I am honored to announce the new members of the Council. It is evident from their enthusiasm and experience that this incoming group will make a significant contribution to the Council and FDLP. GPO values its relationship with the Council and looks forward to working together to ensure that the documents of our democracy are kept widely available to the public in both printed and electronic form."

The Council, composed of 15 members each of whom serve three year terms, advises the Public Printer on policy matters relating to the Federal Depository Library Program (FDLP). The FDLP, which traces its roots to 1813, provides access across the United States to the published information of all three branches of the government through partnerships with more than 1,220 libraries ranging from public libraries to research universities.

The new members will serve from October 1, 2010 through September 30, 2013. The DLC meets at a minimum of twice each year. Meet the new Council members at their introductory meeting at the Fall DLC Meeting, which runs from October 18-20, 2010. GPO's official press release is available as a PDF.
