One June 8, 1993 President Clinton signed Public Law 103-40, the GPO Electronic Information Access Enhancement Act, which enabled GPO to put Government information online for the first time. A year later, GPO made the Congressional Record and Federal Register available on GPO Access, the predecessor to GovInfo.
