Description

Libraries around the world have suffered during the COVID-19 pandemic. Some libraries have also experienced other natural disasters such as floods, fires, earthquakes, and hurricanes during the pandemic. The current wildfires in the Western U.S. and Hurricane Ida, along with the continuing pandemic, illustrate that a multiple disaster situation is not unique. This webinar covers the triple disaster events of Hurricane Maria, the Southern Puerto Rico earthquakes, and COVID-19, and how the libraries of Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico coped, survived, and are thriving. The lessons learned are unique to this library but also applicable to many other libraries. This webinar shares what we learned, how to avoid some of our mistakes, and also offers resources to help both libraries and their users.
