Deadline Approaching - Selection Profile Update Cycle: Final Date for New Selections is September 30, 2020

Wednesday, September 30, 2020 is the deadline for libraries intending to add tangible formats to their item selection profiles for Federal fiscal year 2021 (October 1, 2020 – September 30, 2021). Changes to item selection profiles are made in Depository Selection Information Management System (DSIMS). Beginning on October 1, 2020, any tangible format item numbers previously added to a library’s Cart become effective.

You can add EL format item numbers at any time of the year, and selections go into effect immediately. Item number deselections also take effect immediately.

Instructions on using DSIMS and a Tools to Manage Your Selection Profile – Quick Start guide are available.

Please note: two technical problems have arisen with DSIMS that GPO has reported to the DSIMS vendor:

  1. Login problem:
Please log in to DSIMS through FDLP.gov > Collection Tools > DSIMS. Enter your FDL number and FDLP password. If you get an error message, go back to FDLP.gov > Collection Tools > DSIMS again. Returning to the DSIMS login page appears to clear the error for many.
  2. Bulk selections and deselections:
At present, spreadsheet uploads are not working in DSIMS. However, click on Cart > Direct Item Entry, and you may copy and paste up to 50 item numbers to add or drop at a time.

We apologize for the technical problems and are working to resolve them as soon as possible.
