GPO’s Certification as a Trusted Digital Repository: Moving Forward

In testimony about the FDLP before the House Administration Committee earlier this week, Roger Schonfeld of Ithaka S+R said, “But as you may know, GPO has attempted to have its own digital repository certified and this certification has not yet been received. This should perhaps cause some special concern for us about whether GPO is in the right position here.”

GPO would like to clarify information about our upcoming certification as a Trusted Digital Repository. This certification will occur upon the completion of an audit that GPO must undergo. This audit has not happened yet. GPO posted a solicitation to conduct an audit following the ISO 16363 standard, Audit and Certification of Trustworthy Digital Repositories. This solicitation was made available on FedBizOps, September 26 (and revised on September 29): https://www.fbo.gov/index?s=opportunity&mode=form&id=838fc3e6e185d9f04f734478d05c4661&tab=core&_cview=1
