Participate in a Month-Long Twitter Campaign Featuring Ben’s Guide This September

Join GPO for a month-long celebration of Ben’s Guide to the U.S. Government as we showcase #BensAdventures. Just in time for a new academic school year and Constitution Day, follow Ben via @USGPO during the month of September as he tours GPO and the local Washington, D.C. area. GPO also wants to see Ben travel the country and tour nationwide Federal depository libraries.

Here’s what you can do:

  1. If you haven’t done so yet, order your Ben stand-up from FDLP.gov. Log in, and visit the ordering page to request your library’s Ben.
  2. Take Ben on a tour of your library, and snap photos of Ben using your collections, attending an event, or enjoying your various patron resources, to name just a few.
  3. Tweet your own Ben adventures, tag @USGPO, and use #BensAdventures in your post.
  4. Create a unique background story to highlight the way Government information has helped to build your library, and show off the unique features that your library offers. This is a great opportunity to create a blog post that would allow you to connect your Twitter to your website and drive traffic.
  5. Follow @USGPO all month long to see where Ben goes.

You can also feature Ben in your library with our new Ben bookmarks, window clings, and downloadable print-outs for patrons

For questions, contact us via askGPO. In the "Ask a Question" tab, choose "Federal Depository Libraries" as the category and "Marketing Strategies/Radio Spots" as the subcategory.
