Title: Congressional Publications: An Overview
Speakers:
- Bob Luoma, Librarian (Cataloger), U.S. GPO
- Lawler Nicoteri, Bibliographic Control & Metadata Librarian, U.S. GPO
Description:
GPO's Bob Luoma and Lawler Nicoteri team up to present this webinar. The publications of the United States Congress account for approximately 50% of the total cataloging output of the Bibliographic Control section at GPO. They are also the most in-demand publications in the Federal Depository Library Program (FDLP). This presentation serves as an introduction to the treatment of congressional publications in the FDLP—how they are acquired, classified, and cataloged—with a special emphasis on changes brought about by the implementation of the Resource Description and Access (RDA) cataloging standard.
