FDLP LibGuides: New Guide on Opioids

In 2017, the U.S. Government Publishing Office launched FDLP LibGuides, a site that includes guides created by LSCM staff and by the FDLP community. Each month, we will highlight a different guide. This month, we highlight the LSCM created guide on Opioids.

According to the Center for Decease Control, of the more than 64,000 drug overdose deaths estimated in 2016, the sharpest increase occurred among deaths related to fentanyl and fentanyl analogs (synthetic opioids) with over 20,000 overdose deaths from 2000 – 2016. The drug epidemic is increasingly disastrous in the U.S., as more than 64,000 Americans died from drug overdoses in 2016, including illicit drugs and prescription opioids. That number is nearly double the total from a decade ago.

The Opioids guide was published in July in an effort to compile important Government resources on this timely and important topic. Articles, documents, apps, interactive tools, and other resources are included to provide a wide variety of information for both the public and the medical community. Information on the current epidemic, treatment and recovery, overdose, and other related topics are featured.

Visit FDLP LibGuides for more information, or submit your own LibGuide.

FDLP Connection Archive

We have sunsetted the FDLP Connection with the July / August 2018 issue and will not be publishing the Connection anymore. We’ve enjoyed bringing the FDLP Connection to the community over the years! You can still view past issues. View full archive (2011-2018).
