This is an introduction to the Bureau of Indian Affairs website (www.bia.gov) for tribal college librarians, tribal librarians, and all other types of interested librarians. Among the site’s features are: how to find useful online publications from the divisions of BIA, such as the Native American Wind Resource Atlas, the Atlas of Oil and Gas Plays on Indian Lands, and the Tribal Business Structure Handbook; general reference documents, such as the Guide to Tracing Your Indian Ancestry and the Tribal Leaders Directory; introductions to such special BIA websites as Wildland Fire Management, the Indian Loan Guarantee Program, and the Tribal Energy and Environmental Information Clearinghouse; how to find the regional BIA website(s) for your state; and the web pages of the Office of Congressional and Legislative Affairs and the Office of Federal Acknowledgement.
