The U.S. Government Printing Office (GPO) Agency Accounts and Marketing (AAM) business unit houses the GPO National Account Manager (NAM) team, a group established to support GPO’s goals of continually improving service to its agency customers and identifying new sources of revenue. The NAM team is responsible for providing direct support and consultation to GPO’s agency customers and promoting GPO products and services directly to new and existing agency customers using a wide variety of communication channels.
The NAM team consists of print professionals currently located in GPO’s Dallas and Chicago regional offices as well as the GPO Washington, D.C. central office. The NAMs serve as a single point of contact for GPO agency customers and provide customers with assistance in such areas as understanding GPO processes, writing technical specifications, resolution of billing issues, and coordination of proposed solutions for complex or enterprise-wide business needs. GPO NAMs are dedicated to assisting customers in implementing the most cost-effective and appropriate GPO solutions for their specific needs.
In their role, the GPO NAMs provide customer education and training on the full range of GPO products and services as well as how to access these services. This training takes place in one-to-one settings with individual agency customers, through a nationwide schedule of day-long GPO Road Shows, and increasingly through training webinars. In recent years, a representative from Library Services and Content Management (LSCM) has joined the NAMs in their presentations. This representative informs agencies of their Federal Depository Library Program (FDLP) obligations and explains how depository libraries provide access to and promote their information dissemination products. Here you can access a listing of upcoming GPO live and virtual events. As GPO’s services continue to expand into new and increasingly digital solutions, the NAMs will spearhead the effort to ensure that our customers are aware of these new GPO offerings and how they may be applied to solve their unique communication challenges.
The NAM team also works directly with GPO customers on implementing a number of alternative GPO solutions that serve very specific needs beyond traditional print procurement. These programs include: GPOExpress, GPO’s nationwide convenience copying program; Onsite Document Solutions, GPO’s contracts that support agency in-house copying, document management, and printing functions; and GPO’s Online Paper Store , providing competitively priced copier paper to Federal agencies nationwide through our online ordering system.
The work of the NAMs is supported by the GPO in-house marketing team that provides production support for marketing collateral, coordination of GPO events, maintenance of GPO’s sales and marketing database, and customer outreach. The Agency Accounts and Marketing business unit also oversees GPO’s customer training organization, The Institute at GPO. The Institute provides lecture, demonstration, and hands-on training on a range of topics related to the technology and best practices used in Government printing and communications. The Institute classes are offered in GPO’s Central Office in Washington, D.C. and can also be customized for on-site delivery at other locations.
