GPO Access PURLs Modified

The FDLP Desktop serves as a centralized resource for the Federal Depository Library Program (FDLP), which disseminates U.S. Government information to the American public through libraries across the nation. Stay up-to-date with the latest innovations and progress of the Program and utilize various tools in order to enhance public services.

Libraries, log in with your institution's number and internal password to access depository-only content (e.g., order promotional materials).

Now that FDsys is GPO's official system of record, the U.S. Government Printing Office reviewed all PURL records to determine which PURLs needed to be updated to point to FDsys resources rather than GPO Access resources. Consequently, PURLs with the following URLs have been modified:

http://www.gpoaccess.gov/*
http://frwebgate.access.gpo.gov/*
http://www.access.gpo.gov/*

A total of 42,163 PURLs have been modified. An additional 200 PURLs continue to point to GPO Access. These PURLs require additional analysis and evaluation and will be modified as the review is completed.

PURL links within the Catalog of U.S. Government Publications will resolve. MARC records will be modified (e.g., 53x and 856 fields) as necessary as time permits.
