New Depository Librarian’s Institute

GPO hosted a 1-day pre-conference, New Depository Librarian’s Institute, on Tuesday, April 29, 2014. The Institute was one day before the 2014 Federal Depository Library Council Meeting and Depository Library Conference.

The Institute was recommended for new depository staff unfamiliar with FDLP operations and GPO requirements for depository libraries. It addressed topics such as tangible and electronic collections, item selection for FDLP libraries, box processing, working with item selection profile(s), public access requirements, and the role of regional depository libraries. Onsite attendees met GPO staff and had the opportunity to consult with staff on their item selection profiles.
